Jinergy Attended CSPV Conference and Explored New Development Path Against the Background of Industry Transformation and Upgrading

From November 8 to November 10, 2018 China SoG Silicon and PV Power Conference (the 14th CSPV for short) — one of the most important academic conferences on silicon materials and PV power in China, was held in Xi’an. This conference focused on the industry’s innovative technologies, such as N-type bifacial cell technology and application, efficient HJT cell and high power output module technology, as well as system integration in the era of grid parity, and explored new development path against the background of industry transformation and upgrading, so as to promote sustainable development of PV industry. Dr. Liyou YANG, general manager of Jinergy was invited to attend the conference and make a speech on Crystalline Silicon— Development of the Mass Production Technology of A-Si HJT Cell.

According to ITRPV, in view of the efficiency and cost advantages, PERC cellis expected to account for more than 30% by late 2018. However, the more noteworthy trend is that the market share of HJT and IBC cells has shown a good trend of growth year by year, which is praised as the most promising super high efficiency cell technology in the industry.

Compared with IBC technology, HJT module also has many advantages, such as simple technological process, nolight degradation, no PID and low temperature coefficient, etc. Dr. Liyou YANG said, “HJT is an effective overshoot for the future development of the photovoltaic industry toward the efficiency level of 25%. Therefore, Jinergy has made continuous technical efforts to break through the highest efficiency of mass production of super high efficiency HJT batteries to 24.04%. Meanwhile, HJT single-crystal double-sided glass photovoltaic module has also passed the IEC new standard test of TÜV.”

On the R&D road of HJT super high efficiency modules, Jinergy aims to build a HJT production line with abilities of mass production. Liyou YANG disclosed, “At present, the efficiency and yield rate of Jinergy’s HJT products have reached our planned goal for establishing factories, but it still has some difference from the “ultimate goal” we have formulated. Generally speaking, the efficiency distribution of HJT is wider than that of conventional products, which still needs further research. At the same time, with the continuous improvement of inefficient standards, the Company needs to make more efforts to constantly improve the yield rate of products. Therefore, we will also optimize and adjust the structure of the battery according to long-term operation experience.”

The Company has been devoted to cost reduction in the aspects of silicon slice, conductive silver paste, TCO target materials, velvet additive and equipment and achieved preliminary results. Among them, in terms of the achievements in conductive silver paste, the consumption can be optimized by developing new products together with suppliers, with the decline up to 50%. In terms of the cost reduction space of HJT in future.
