HJT Module May Become the Next Generation of the Most Promising Photovoltaic Product Jinergy's Forward-Looking Technology Will Become the Industry Benchmark

On December 6, 2018, at the Third N-Type c-Si Cell and Passivated Contact Forum, Dr. Liyou YANG, General Manager of Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd. (Jinergy) - a leading enterprise of cutting-edge technologies in photovoltaic industry, made a speech themed by Development of the Mass Production Technology of Crystalline Silicon - A-Si HJT Cell, and displayed Jinergy’s latest achievements in R&D and mass production of HJT.

According to International Technology Roadmap for Photovoltaic (ITRPV) in 2018, it is predicted that the market share of N-type silicon slices will continue to increase; by 2020, and it will reach 10% while 28% by 2028. Among them, HJT module owns many advantages, such as high energy conversion efficiency, simple low-temperature manufacturing process, application of thin silicon wafer, low temperature coefficient and bifacial electricity generation, so that it is expected to become the most promising product of next-generation photovoltaic technology.

Jinergy has planned a GW-level HJT product capacity in Jinzhong Production Base in Shanxi Province, and it has firstly achieved the mass production in May 2017. The efficiency and yield of Jinergy’s HJT products have reached the scheduled target of the project. The maximum mass production efficiency of HJT cell has reached 24.04%, and the average mass production yield has reached 97.6%. Jinergy’s HJT module owns advantages including excellent weak light response, ultra-low temperature coefficient, ultra-low degradation and bifacial electricity generation, thus to have significantly increased the actual electric energy production, with an overall increase of energy production of 44% compared with regular modules.

Dr. YANG Liyou said, “Jinergy aims to build a HJT production line that is available for mass production and promotion. On basis of the current achievements, Jinergy will focus on technology and cost to facilitate the ground-breaking reduction of China’s PV power generation cost, thus to achieve grid parity as early as possible.”
