Jinergy HJT Eye-catching Innovative Accomplishment Shines at 2019 HJT and Thin-film Solar Cell Forum in Chengdu

Recently, 2019 HJT and Thin-film Solar Cell Forum has been held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Super high efficiency HJT technology featured by multiple advantages attracted the attention of forum attendees. As a forerunner in developing advanced PV technologies, Jinergy announced, at the forum, that the production efficiency of its newly developed HJT cells reached 23.79% in average and 24.73% the highest, with bifaciality up to 93%, far higher than those of similar products in the industry, which offered significant technical support for China to achieve grid parity across the country.

Under the leading and driving of national policies, China’s PV industry is devoting to improving product reliability and economy, and to realizing grid parity as soon as possible, through technological innovation, cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Equipped with high conversion rate, simple manufacturing process, application of thin-silicone chip, ultra-low temperature coefficient, low light degradation, bifacial power generation and high bifaciality, HJT cell is reputed as the most potentially industrialized next generation super high efficiency cell technology.

Though there is a broad prospect, the reality shows that most enterprises in China are still working on assessing or testing their mass production of HJT cells. According to ASIACHEM, the overall capacity planning for HJT production in China since 2016 is about 22GW.  And its total investment planned is up to RMB 52 billion, and the production capacity built so far is around 1GW.

In comparison, Jinergy is leading the development and mass production of HJT technologies. Mr.Li Gaofei, Technology Director of Jinergy, expressed that, “HJT looks promising to us. It is superior to other super high efficiency cells in terms of the cell structure and process. Taking the bifacial super high efficiency HJT module as an example, HJT is strong in low light performance, ultra-low temperature coefficient and degradation. With dual-glass packaging and extra 10%-35% bifacial power generation, the overall power generation of super high efficiency HJT modules is 44% higher than that of normal high efficiency modules”.

Moreover, Jinergy maintains an outstanding mass production of HJT modules. According to the production data released by Jinergy in March 2019, Jinergy’s average production of HJT reached 98.29%. At the same time, testing data from the experimental power station in Jinzhong proves that, with the application of flat uniaxial bracket, HJT modules could generate 50%-70% more electricity than that of poly modules.

According to Mr. Li Gaofei, “Higher efficiency and reliability are important to reduce cost per kilowatt and achieve grid parity with PV technologies. Currently, HJT is one of those super high efficiency technologies with high and stable mass production rate and reliable quality. With over one year’s efforts, Jinergy has accomplished cost reduction in HJT preliminarily. Along with continuous cost reduction in silver paste, equipment and silicone chip, there will be more and more enterprises investing in HJT technologies. So we have strong confidence in achieving grid parity with PV power generation supported by HJT technologies”.
