Jinergy's TOPCon Technological Team Achieved Significant Breakthroughs

The Project “Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-Efficiency Photovoltaic Conversion in Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells” Won the Group’s Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award

Recently, the TOPCon technology team at the Jinzhong factory of Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jinergy”) received good news: its project “Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-Efficiency Photoelectric Conversion in Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells” successfully won the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of Jinneng Holding Group, thanks to its solid technical strength and remarkable economic benefits. This honor not only bears witness to the TOPCon technology team’s relentless efforts and dedicated breakthroughs, but also serves as a vivid example of the Group’s deep commitment to the new energy sector and its drive for high-quality development through innovation and hard work.

Confronting Industry Challenges, Innovation Breakthroughs Demonstrate Responsibility

In the photovoltaic industry, the triple pressures of efficiency, yield, and cost are deeply intertwined, forming the key bottleneck that restricts the development of PV manufacturing companies. Confronted with this industry-wide difficulty, the TOPCon technology team at Jinergy’s Jinzhong factory went through countless experiments, explorations, verifications, and trials. With tenacious perseverance, the team successfully transformed cutting-edge theories into a stable and reliable mass-production technology system, laying a solid foundation for the project’s breakthrough.

Multi-Dimensional Technological Breakthroughs Forge Core Competitiveness

To break the industry constraints, the technology team has focused its efforts on multidimensional innovation, deploying a “combination of strategies” of technical improvements to comprehensively enhance product competitiveness:

Diffusion Process Innovation

The team has introduced an interface-optimized shallow-junction low-loss diffusion technology. While solidifying the foundation for good ohmic contact, this technology precisely controls the surface doping concentration, effectively extending minority carrier lifetime, and driving a significant efficiency increase of 0.08% for the solar cells.

Coating Design Upgrade

A meticulously engineered multilayer anti-reflection coating structure was developed. On one hand, it reduces surface reflectivity and greatly improves light utilization; on the other hand, by using differentiated gas flow ratios, it significantly enhances passivation performance, contributing an additional gain of 0.083% in cell efficiency.

Electrode Optimization and Refinement

The metal electrode screen-printing pattern was deeply redesigned. While ensuring stable soldering pull strength, the area of the main busbars and bonding pads was reduced. This approach not only lowers silver paste consumption but also reduces shading losses caused by the busbars. At the same time, through precise matching of the front-side silver paste, contact resistance was lowered, achieving dual improvements in both cell efficiency and module power.

Inspection Equipment Innovation

By redesigning the probe array structure and simplifying circuit connections, we have achieved equipment miniaturization while ensuring stable electrical connections. This innovation significantly reduces testing interference caused by wiring, greatly improving the detection accuracy of local defects in crystalline silicon cells.

These multiple innovative initiatives advanced in synergy and converged toward common goals, ultimately delivering an impressive performance report:

Silver paste consumption per cell reduced by 8%

Module power increased by more than 5W
