Media Focus | Jinergy: Strong Gains in High-Efficiency Photoelectric Conversion Technology

In March this year, five national ministries including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology jointly released the 31st list of accredited National Enterprise Technology Centers. Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jinergy”) was successfully selected thanks to its profound expertise and long‑term investment in photovoltaic technology research and development.

As the sole photovoltaic enterprise in its region honored in this round of assessments, this national‑level accreditation is a high‑level recognition of Jinergy’s decade‑long commitment to core PV technologies and persistent breakthroughs in key industrial bottlenecks. It also stands as a major milestone in driving high‑quality development of the new energy sector through technological innovation, signifying that Jinergy’s R&D strengths in advanced photovoltaic technologies have been nationally validated.

Since its establishment in 2013, Jinergy has consistently adhered to the technical policy “one generation in mass production, one in pilot testing, and one in R&D”, unswervingly pursuing a dual-driven path of technological innovation and lean production and continuously enhancing its R&D strength and innovation capacity. Facing the dual challenges of accelerating PV technology iteration and intensifying market competition, Jinergy has responded proactively by continuously increasing R&D investment, building intelligent platforms, expanding cooperation channels and collaboratively promoting the digital transformation of intelligent manufacturing, ensuring the company’s efficient and steady development.

In terms of technological innovation, Jinergy has achieved fruitful results. By the end of 2024, it had filed 359 patents and obtained 246 authorized patents. In 2024 alone, it secured 36 new authorized patents, established a perovskite/crystalline silicon tandem cell demonstration line, and achieved an average efficiency of 26.4% for TOPCon cells. Its technology portfolio spans the entire product ecosystem of “one generation in mass production, one in pilot testing, and one in R&D”.In addition, National Key Laboratory of Heterojunction Photovoltaic Technology jointly established by Jinergy, the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Solar Energy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and other institutions, has broken through bottlenecks in cell processes and equipment technologies, laying a solid foundation for next-generation technological iteration.

In serving specialized scenarios, Jinergy developed PV modules for the Antarctic Qinling Station that meet the demands of polar environments. These modules can withstand the extreme harsh conditions of Antarctic (temperatures as low as –55°C, ultra-strong winds with speeds no less than 50 m/s, intense ultraviolet radiation, and polar days/nights), representing the highest endorsement of the company’s technical strength. This collaboration not only brought orders and revenue to Jinergy, but also marked the company’s transformation from an “ordinary supplier” to a “solution leader”, laying a solid foundation for participation in the global green-energy revolution.

Looking ahead, Jinergy will take its recognition as National Enterprise Technology Center as a new starting point. It will fully leverage the positive role of the center, continue to deepen its engagement in the field of high-efficiency photoelectric conversion technology, strengthen industry-academia-research cooperation, and further refine its technological innovation system. Meanwhile, the company will actively explore multi-field cooperation models and continuously enhance the added value of the industrial chain, and secure a leading position in the clean electric power energy market.
