Media Focus | Chasing Green Electricity with Light, Forging a Benchmark Through Collective Wisdom

The early winter sunlight falls on the rooftop of Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd. in Wenshui Economic Development Zone, where rows of photovoltaic panels are converting sunlight into green electricity. This distributed power station generates nearly 7 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to replacing about 660 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, or reducing the burning of 143 tons of standard coal. 

As the “chain leader” enterprise of Shanxi (a landlocked province just west of Beijing) Province’s photovoltaic industry chain, Jinergy is not only a pioneer in the coordinated development of the regional industrial chain, but has also carved out a distinctive path of green transformation in this traditionally energy-rich province with honors such as “National Green Factory”, “National Enterprise Technology Center” and “National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise”.

The communiqué of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China explicitly called for “accelerating high-level technological self-reliance and substantial improvements in scientific and technological self-reliance and strength” and listed “a significant increase in the level of technological self-reliance and strength” as one of the main goals for economic and social development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, “always placing scientific and technological innovation at the core of the national strategy”. The managers and employees of Jinergy have deeply studied and understood the spirit of the plenary session and are translating it into practical actions to deepen photovoltaic manufacturing and drive industrial upgrading. 

Walking into the factory workshop, automated equipment runs through the entire process from stringing, lamination, and encapsulation to testing. Intelligentization is not only an upgrade of equipment, but also a profound transformation of production models. “The AI vision inspection system we introduced can automatically identify defects such as hidden cracks and cold solder joints, with a detection accuracy of 99%, improving efficiency several times over traditional manual inspection,” said Duan Tengfei, Equipment Manager for Modules at Jinergy. With real-time data collection and dynamic process optimization through the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), intelligent production has become the core support for quality improvement and efficiency enhancement. 

Green production has been the cornerstone of Jinergy’s development from the very beginning. The company has established a carbon accounting system covering the entire product lifecycle, enabling precise management of the carbon footprint from raw material procurement and production processing to end-use applications. For example, the high-efficiency TOPCon photovoltaic modules exported to France have not only obtained local carbon footprint certification, but also met stringent international green standards with an excellent score of less than 455 kg CO₂/kW.
