Jinergy has announced the launch of enhanced offshore solar modules, designed to withstand the harsh working conditions with reliability addressed by the quality of module glass, frame, junction box, encapsulation material and sealing silicone.
The move comes in response to the numerous benefits presented by the marine environment, including easy accessibility for transmission, low rental costs and favourable lighting conditions.
Using two-layer coating glass, reinforced seal junction boxes and connectors, low water permeability encapsulation material and sealing silicone, two types of frame solution have been developed – an aluminium frame with increased anodized thickness and a polyurethane composite frame. The product has improved resistance to salt spray corrosion, ensuring high reliability during long-term use and efficient power generation, also providing excellent resistance to water vapour intrusion, significantly enhancing performance.
The economics of offshore PV systems are gradually improving. While initial investment may be relatively high, large-scale production, optimized design and improved power generation efficiency can reduce overall costs and increase economic benefits. Additionally, policy support and environmental benefits also contribute positively to the economics of offshore solar.
