Jinergy's PERC High Efficiency Modules Exported to Japan

Recently, Jinergy has begun supplying a ground power plant in Okinawa with photovoltaic modules, the delivery of which will be finished in July this year, thus ensuring that the project will be grid-connected and operated by the end of September as scheduled. It not only means that the leading photovoltaic module manufacturer in Shanxi has once again won the recognition of overseas customers with its cutting-edge manufacturing technology, but also adds new powerful leverage for the Company to accelerate its overseas layout and expansion.

Okinawa is in the subtropical climate, hot and rainy in summer but warm and rainless in winter. For that reason, Jinergy has provided the project proponent with 360W PERC monocrystalline module. This module adopts the industry advanced battery after-processing technology, making the light attenuation of the products in the first year lower than 1.5%, superior to the average standard of conventional monocrystalline technology and industry PERC products by 4%~10%, thus ensuring the stable power output of the modules under high temperature and humid environment.

Actually, at the 2018 PV EXPO in Tokyo of Japan in this February, Jinergy has attracted high attention in the Japanese market with its cutting-edge manufacturing technology —ultra-high efficiency module. By now, the mass production efficiency of Jinergy's ultra-high efficiency heterojunction cells has reached 23.27%. After the test of the third-party, Jinergy's 60-cell bifacial modules in mass production had a front sidepower output of 332.6W. Being characterized by bifacial power generation, rear side can generate 10%-30% additional power in application scenario like the grass, concrete floor, snow and reflective cloth. The temperature coefficient of the power is as low as-0.27%/°C. Compared with regularpolycrystalline ones, Jinergy's heterojunction modules can save34% of power loss at the operating temperature of 75°C.

Due to the long-term energy crisis in Japan, it will be the keynote of future energy transformation in Japan to developrenewable energy sources, mainly photovoltaic and wind power. Yamazaki Takuya, director of New Energy Department of Agency of Natural Resources and Energy of METI, pointed out recently that the amount of grid-connected renewable energy in Japan exceeded coal-fired power generation in 2015; the total grid-connected solar power in 2016 exceeded all other types of renewable energy. Therefore, reducing the cost of solar power system and cost per kilowatt is the main driving force for market development.

Dr. Yang Liyou, the general manager of Jinergy, thought that the HJT ultra-high efficiency module might further accelerate the significant reduction in cost per kilowatt. In order to promote the cost reduction of this super high efficiency technology, Jinergy is accelerating its R&D in silver paste, ITO target, texturing additives, CVD and other dedicated devices or aspects. After the achievement of HJT cost reduction and its expected scale effect, the cost of this super high efficiency technology can equal that of PERC per watt in the future.
