QIAO Kai from Jinergy: High-efficiency Modules "Escort" for Photovoltaic Targeted Poverty Alleviation

March 26th2018, a new policy issued by the Ministry of Finance of P.R.C. has injected strong impetus into the sustainable development of China’s photovoltaic poverty alleviation project.According to the newly released Notice on the Catalogue of Supplementary Funds for Renewable Energy Electricity Price (Photovoltaic Poverty Alleviation Projects), in order to ensure that the benefits of photovoltaic poverty alleviation reach the poor people timely, the Ministry of Finance will give priority to subsidizing the fund for photovoltaic poverty alleviation projects in the catalogue of supplementary funds for renewable energy.

So far, through industrial poverty alleviation, many new industries including photovoltaic poverty alleviation have developed rapidly, thus to have made poverty alleviation in China reach a new level. According to the data, from the end of 2012 to the end of 2017, the cumulative population of poverty reduction over the past five years has reached more than 66 million, and the poverty population in the current standard has decreased by more than two-thirds, creating the best achievement in the history of poverty reduction.

As the leading module manufacturer in Shanxi Province, Jinergy has not only accumulated rich experience in the process of actively developing poverty alleviation in recent years, but also provided high-efficiency modules for multiple key poverty-relief counties and districts in China such as Datong, and Fangshan County, Lvliang, thus to make certain contribution to local poverty alleviation and poverty reduction.QIAO Kai, deputy general manager of Jinergy, was invited to participate in the photovoltaic poverty alleviation (village-level power station, photovoltaic farm) exchange meeting held in Beijing on March 28.

At the exchange meeting, QIAO Kaisaid, “Reviewing the development of China’s photovoltaic poverty alleviation, the mode of targeted poverty alleviation has changed from the original “blood transfusion” to “hematopoiesis”.In order to further ensure the poor people’s access to reliable and secure electricity, photovoltaic module products with high output power and high reliability is undoubtedly the significant premise to realize the 25-year stable poverty alleviation, which can escort for the long-term running of photovoltaic targeted poverty alleviation projects.”

QIAO Kai further pointed out that in an equal floor space, high-efficiency module can output more electricity, whichmeans that photovoltaic project with high-efficiency modules can create higher returns for the poor. The high-efficiency and polycrystalline products manufactured byJinergy have excellent PID performance and the measured value of PID is less than 1%; meanwhile, by adopting advanced gallium-doping silicon chip technology, the problem of module luminous decay has been greatly improved, thus to further improve the power generation and system efficiency optimization and upgrading of the modules in the whole life cycle.

To take Jinergy’s 18MW photovoltaic poverty alleviation project at Liujiazhuang Village in Fangshan County of Lvliang as an example, Jinergy in total provides 18MW high-efficiency polycrystalline modules that meet photovoltaic-leader standards. After the interconnection of the project, it is equivalent to reducing 220,210 tons of coal and 572,525 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, not only achieving a huge environmental benefit but also bringing an average annual income of RMB 3,000 yuan for each poor household.

As a large state-owned energy enterprise in Shanxi Province, Jinneng Group has been adhering to the concept of “Integrate into Local Economy and Serve Local Development” to actively participate in emergency rescues, poverty alleviation, education donation, tree planting, afforestation and barren mountain improvement and sign the strategic cooperation agreement for photovoltaic poverty alleviation with Lvliang City, which fully demonstrates the social responsibility of a large state-owned enterprise.
