PV in China: Fair-Priced Power Utilization Expected Soon, Technical Leader Jinneng Technology Interprets Industrial Innovation & Development

The 12th AsiaSolar Photovoltaic Innovation & Cooperation Forum and AsiaSolar Photovoltaic Innovative Technology & Product Exhibition with a theme of innovation were ceremoniously held in Shanghai from August 24th to 26th, 2017, in which industrial associations, manufacturers, investment & financing institutions, etc. focused on hot topics, such as creating power station, building up sustainable and ecological industrial chain, positively facilitating distributed PV development, etc., to jointly explore the innovative development and cooperation of the PV industry. As a PV module manufacturer ranking No.1 in Shanxi Province, Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jinneng Technology”) had its Technical R&D Director LI Gaofei attended at this high-end Forum as invited to offer worthy thoughts as reference for speeding up the technical and innovative development of the PV industry.

According to institutional estimation, urged by strong demands of domestic and international PV markets, due to accelerating technical transformation & upgrading and big cost reduction space in the future, the long-term yielding point of China’s PV industry has appeared; especially in respect of cost reduction, through constant PV manufacturing cost reduction and conversion efficiency improvement, it’s predicted that the user-side power utilization with fair price in the PV industry will be realized in advance during 2017 and 2018 and the same for power generation side by 2020,.

LI addressed in the high-end dialogue under the theme of “PV Technical Innovation and Development” that “facilitating the cost reduction per kilowatt-hour and assisting in realizing fair-priced power utilization have always been the key words for sustainable development of the PV industry; in order to push the goal, the key is to realize the mass production-based application of high and even ultra efficiency products; polycrystalline silicon cell now still leads the market, but N-type monocrystalline products will gradually grasp an increasing market share, and ultra-efficiency products, like HJT, IBC, etc., will achieve innovative technologies of the most potentials”.

JinnengTechnology now has its hi-power 280W polycrystalline products massively produced, and the 295W and 300W monocrystalline module including 60 PERC cells also successfully put into mass production with its power output likely to rise to 310W in the future. Meanwhile, as a leader for industrial advanced technologies, Jinneng Technology has its newly developed HJT, a high-efficiency technology, formally launched and delivered this year.

In terms of power generation efficiency, mass production rate of the bifacial  HJT cells has reached 22.3 percent with 23 percent as the highest, and the bifacial  HJT module containing 72 cells has the maximum power output of 395W in mass production. HJT module can increase the power generation capability by over 20 percent, and reduce the PV power generation cost to 0.4 US dollar per watt in next three years, by taking advantages of its bifacial power generation, ultra-low attenuation, better weak-light response, etc., to speed up the achieving of the goal that realizes power utilization with fair price by 2020.

Additionally, Doctor YANG Liyou, the General Manager of Jinneng Technology successfully won the “2017 AsiaSolar TOP10 PV Innovation Figures” as an honor for outstanding pioneers of the PV industrial chain leading the development to this regard.
