Jinergy Selects Applied Materials' New Metallization Platform for Fast Production Ramp

New TempoTM platform enables high-volume manufacturing of high-efficiency solar cell designs 

Supports industry’s highest cell throughput and yield to deliver lowest cost of ownership solution

SHANGHAI, China, April 28, 2015 –Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Limited ( hereinafter referred to as "JINERGY" ) today announced that it has selected Applied materials' new Tempo™ Metallization platform for its ability to manufacture high-efficiency cell designs in a low cost-of-ownership, high throughout solution. Designed to advance the state-of-the-art in cell manufacturing, the Tempo platform supports Applied's unique Fine Line Double Print™ (FLDP) technology that can help customers increase solar conversion efficiencies and achieve high yield. Founded in 2013, Jinergy operates a solar manufacturing facility located in China's Shanxi province with an annual capacity of 500MW of solar cells and 600MW of module production.

The tool allowed us a smooth and fast ramp, from tool move-in to full production in less than eight weeks. With the help of Tempo platform, we've achieved 18.2% of average conversion efficiency in multi-crystalline solar cells and reached the highest record of 18.6% so far."
