JINERGY Rolled Out GW Grade High-efficiency Polycrystalline and Shipped out First PERC Products

On Dec. 30th, 2016, Jinneng Clean Energy Technology Ltd (“JINERGY”hereinafter), No. 1 local PV modules manufacturer in Shanxi Province, announced that its solar cell and module expansion project in Shanxi Wenshui Production Base was completed and put into production. Meanwhile, it claimed that production capacity of both cells and modules can reach 1.3GW, and shipped out first production of PERC monocrystalline PV modules of JINERGY. Apart from leaders of Jinneng Group, participants in the event were relevant local officials. 

JINERGY has made a great breakthrough in high-efficiency polycrystalline PV modules, and the Phase 1.5 expansion in Wenshui Production Base was all about the high-efficiency polycrystalline production. As introduced by Doctor YANG Liyou, General Manager of JINERGY, “In the past, the difference in power of mono and poly crystalline modules was around 20W. With the development of polycrystalline technology in recent years, the gap in power of mono and poly crystalline modules has been shrunk to 10W. With our constant efforts, such a gap has been reduced to 5W by now.” The data shows the silicon technology contributes to a rise of 0.1%~0.2% in cell efficiency every year. Doctor YANG Liyou also expressed, “At present, JINERGY’s output of 275W high-efficiency polycrystalline modules accounts for 50%; it will exceeds 80% by the first half of 2017; and 280W high-efficiency polycrystalline modules will realize mass production by the second half of 2017”,. 

Moreover, the shippment of fisrt JINERGY’s PERC monocrystalline PV modules signifies that another edge-cutting technology of JINERGY has marched into the market. JINERGY’s PERC monocrystalline PV modules made use of the industry-leading back passivation and local aluminum back surface field (Al-BSF) technologies to effectively reduce Light–Induced Degradation (LID) of cells and modules, with an average conversion rate up to 21.2% and a rise of 7% in power output per square meter. This, as s result, effectively decreased the system cost per watt. Doctor YANG Liyou of JINERGY expressed, “Though our mass production polycrystalline PV modules are very cost-effective, the high-end market still has a more demanding requirements on power of PV modules. We need to position our monocrystalline PERC products in this segment market.”. It’s said that the shipped PERC monocrystalline PV modules will be applied in Tianchang Phase I 100MW Fishing-PV Complementary PV Power Generation Project of POWERCHINA HUADONG.

The event was held at the same time of the 3rd anniversary of JINERGY. Three years ago, Jinneng Group, the state-owned pilot enterprise of energy reform in Shanxi Province, invested RMB1.1 billion to build the Production Base of PV modules in Wenshui with the support of Shanxi provincial government and Lvliang multicipal government, in order to implement the policy of Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Government, and to promote “low-carbon development of high-carbon resources, green development of black coals, and sustainable development of resource industries”. Because of its industry-leading technologies and price advantages, JINERGY has achieved the objectives of “Commencement, Construction, Operation and Benefit in the Same Year” within only one year after establishment. This not only filled in the blank of PV manufacturing in Lvliang City, but also speeded up the transformation and upgrade of Lvliang energy economic structure to some extent. Now, Shanxi biggest production base of PV cells and modules has increased the production capacity to 1.3GW, which is a new milestone. WANG Qirui, Chairman of Jinneng Group expressed, “Jinneng Group is the bellwether in the reform of energy structure in Shanxi Province. JINERGY is the key member of Jinneng Group in realizing the ‘scale development of clean energy’. Jinneng Group has achieved a rapid growth in clean energy since its restructuring three years ago. In future, we will rely on JINERGY PV production base, and commit to implementing the intelligent manufacturing strategy of technological iteration, intelligent production and flexible manufacturing, in order to build it into an integrated energy group and realize its leapfrog development.”
